Continuing Education in Colleges and Universities: Pathways to Success
Adult continuing education is based on the idea that a person’s learning continues throughout their life and can thus take different forms (UIL, 2022). For many adults, a return to formal education – i.e., provided by educational institutions – represents an important step in the course of their life. Several factors can have an influence on whether one succeeds or not in the education program undertaken, some of which are related to the individual and their situation, while others depend on the institution and the chosen program (Solar et al., 2016).
We invite you to explore in a playful way the obstacles and facilitators that can mark an adult’s return to school. In this interactive board game inspired by Snakes and Ladders, step into the shoes of a person enrolling in a post-secondary continuing education program and navigate the ups and downs of student life!
